Frequently Asked Before You Email
"Can you review [donghua]?" Probably yes, if it's available with English subtitles through legal platforms. I prioritize donghua that are accessible to Western audiences through Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, WeTV, iQIYI, or YouTube. If the only way to watch is through piracy sites, I won't cover it — and I won't tell you where to find it.
"Why is my favorite donghua ranked lower than I think it should be?" Rankings are subjective by nature. I watch every show I rank and weigh multiple factors: animation quality, story coherence, character depth, cultural significance, and accessibility. Something ranked #10 isn't bad — it's in the top 10 out of hundreds. If you think I've missed something important about a show, tell me what specifically (not just "you're wrong"). I re-evaluate rankings every month.
"Do you take guest posts?" No. Every article on ChineseAnimeTop is written by me (Aion Ren). This keeps the voice and quality consistent. If you want to suggest a topic, I'm all ears — but I'll write it myself.
What I won't respond to
- Requests to remove negative reviews (if they're factually accurate, they stay)
- Generic SEO/backlink solicitations
- Requests to host or link to piracy sites
- Anonymous unsigned emails making demands
About the response time
I'm in China (UTC+8). If you email at 3 AM Beijing time, you'll hear back the next afternoon my time. For genuine emergencies (e.g. takedown requests for content that infringes your rights), mark the subject as URGENT and I'll prioritize.
